Can You Burn Magnolia Wood. I cut down a magnolia tree that was too close to my house. Magnolia wood burns fast, as it doesn’t have high density.
However, just because magnolia is not the best firewood it doesn't mean you can't, or shouldn't burn it. Just like any other firewood, make sure the wood is seasoned before you burn it. Let me know if any of you have ever burned any of this and if so how well does it burn.
It needs maintenance to keep the fire burning. Magnolia is not great for an indoor fireplace, especially if you desire longer burning wood to warm your house during winter. I chipped all the limbs but kept most of the big wood and split it with plans of burning it.
Magnolia firewood can be burned but it’s probably best when it’s used in the fall or spring when the outside temperatures are mild. However, seasoned magnolia burns better. Unlike most hardwoods, magnolia is not very dense.

Has a high moisture content, and needs drying. Therefore, it wouldn’t take too long before it transforms to fine white ash, also taking. Just like any other firewood, make sure the wood is seasoned before you burn it.
Let me know if any of you have ever burned any of this and if so how well does it burn. Although the tree is technically classified as a hardwood, the wood is not very dense and is much lighter than an oak, maple or beech tree. Not the best in the world, but can be burned.
