I have thought i encountered this bug a few times, but just like others i've seen on the forums, i had simply missed one. From the living wood is a chanter's board side quest received in the city of amaranthine in dragon age: The templars want samples of ancient sylvanwood from the wending wood, and the chanter has offered a reward for the samples.
