The mclaughlin brothers have competed in the georgetown wooden boat build challenge since 2013.
Reeling from the devastating fire 24 days earlier, the people of georgetown desperately needed an event to bring us together and start the healing process. The boat show features wooden boat exhibits displayed on land and water, boat race, boat building, youth sailing regatta, maritime arts and crafts, and some tasty food. All proceeds from this premier wooden boat exhibition benefit the south carolina maritime museum. The optimism of the organizers and the upbeat attitude of the attendees gave all of us the promise for a better future that we needed.
They have consistently placed second in all challenges and this will be their 7th event. The wooden boat show is back, and kingfishers were there! The 2013 wooden boat show was a godsend for georgetown.
