Fire crews made progress on two fires in what's become known as the bull complex burning about 10 miles north of detroit. The new estimate of the tolo mountain fire is 41 acres. That has prompted a local type 3 team to take command of the fire fight starting saturday morning.

At an elevation of 3,419 feet, lake of the woods lookout provides a sweeping panoramic view, with vistas to the pacific ocean, the kalmiopsis and wild rogue wildernesses, and the wild and scenic illinois and rogue river canyons.
Spot fires were breaking out in the preliminary containment area of the tolo mountain fire near crescent lake friday.
